According to the Director General of the IAEA Rafael Grossi, the Zaporizhzhia NPP temporarily lost external power during the night. This information was reported by the 'Glavkom' portal referring to the IAEA.

The information from the IAEA claims that after a thirty-minute interruption, the Zaporizhzhia NPP was reconnected to the 330 kV power line, but the 750 kV line remained disconnected.

Attacks on energy facilities

It should be noted that on the night of December 6, the Russian army launched a new attack on energy facilities in various regions of Ukraine, causing serious damage to thermal power plant equipment.

Call for peace establishment

Recently, the Director General of the IAEA warned that the Zaporizhzhia NPP, which is under occupation, needs to be given 'special status' in the event of a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine. He emphasized that without establishing peace, there is a threat of a nuclear incident.

It should also be noted that one of the points of the peace plan was to restore the operation of the station under the supervision of the IAEA and the equal distribution of electricity between Russia and Ukraine. Grossi noted that he does not wish to engage in politics, but emphasized, 'One thing is clear: in this situation, the IAEA is necessary.'
