Russian shelling of energy infrastructure led to a complete power outage at the Zaporizhstal metallurgical plant. An emergency shutdown of production occurred, but thanks to prompt measures, a technological disaster was avoided and emissions into the atmosphere were reduced. The company confirmed that there are no threats to people, and the resumption of production will begin after the restoration of external energy supply.
Furthermore, due to aggressive actions by Russia in the energy sector, emergency power outages have been implemented in Chernihiv, Kyiv, Chernivtsi, Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy, and Cherkasy regions, as well as in the capital. Most regions of Ukraine have introduced power outage schedules and power restrictions for industrial consumers.
