Rescue Operation in Yurkiivka

In Zaporizhzhia, the evacuation of two families with 9 children from the village of Yurkiivka took place. During the operation, explosions were heard, which scared the children, prompting the women to hurry and gather necessary belongings.

'I am afraid that our home could be destroyed at any second,' confessed a 13-year-old boy.

'I never thought I would have to leave my home so quickly. Everything is happening so terrifyingly… but living under constant shelling is impossible,' added a 17-year-old girl.

One mother, who has six children, tearfully admitted: 'It's very hard for me to say goodbye to my home. But the safety of the children comes first. Every day the explosions get closer, and we must save ourselves.'

Another mother with three boys added that it was scary, but the rescuers and police accompanied them every step of the way, which gave a sense of safety.

Arrival at the Transit Center

After the evacuation, the families were taken to a transit hub, where they were met by social services and volunteers. 'We are doing everything to ensure that families find safety as quickly as possible. The risk of remaining in frontline communities is too high, so it is our duty to accompany the children and their parents and organize a safe passage for them,' emphasized rescue officer Yuriy Holinko.

We urge everyone who is in frontline communities not to risk their lives and to evacuate, as safety is the top priority.
