In Zaporizhzhia, the tariffs that have been in effect since May remain unchanged: 25 UAH for minibuses and 15–20 UAH for public transport. The city council's executive committee approved a new decision to formalize the tariffs following comments from the regulatory authority. This is mentioned in the city council document. What transport tariffs are in effect in Zaporizhzhia
For passengers, prices have not changed. A trip on a minibus costs 25 UAH. In public transport, a ticket costs 20 UAH in cash or 15 UAH cashless.
With the new decision, the executive committee also canceled two previous documents regarding the transport fare. This means that the legal basis on which the tariffs operate has changed, but not the amount that the passenger pays for the trip.
Why the Zaporizhzhia executive committee approved the tariffs again
As explained by the Zaporizhzhia Center for Investigations, during the preparation of the previous decision, the procedure was not followed: calculations had to be published, and the residents were given time for discussion. The State Regulatory Service pointed this out. Now the city authorities have prepared a new document with the necessary materials.
Lawyers spoken to by ZCR journalists noted that the repeated approval of tariffs does not in itself rectify any possible violations during the adoption of the previous decision. At the same time, after its cancellation, the grounds for a legal dispute regarding the previous document may disappear.
Transport tariffs were increased on May 16. The decision sparked protests and petitions, but the deputies did not support the calls to cancel the new prices. The current decision of the executive committee does not revert to the previous cost: it re-establishes the current tariffs. Separately, there was discussion in the city about cashless payments in minibuses, but the prices in public transport and minibuses currently remain different.
