Senior Lieutenant Andrii Dmytrenko, who has been at the front since 2022, proposed the idea of introducing an annual progressive reward for military personnel. His petition addressed the need for recognition of soldiers who continuously defend the country, and the lack of appropriate recognition from the state.
Defenders who bear the heavy burden of war on their shoulders deserve gratitude and recognition
Dmytrenko proposes to establish an annual monetary reward for each year of service at the front, which will increase each year. The first award will be 50 thousand UAH, the second – 100 thousand UAH, the third – 200 thousand UAH, and the fourth – 400 thousand UAH. In addition, there are plans to introduce an award 'Cross of Long Service', which will be presented to military personnel after each year of service and will continuously be supplemented with new elements.
Establishment of the position of Military Ombudsman
It has also been reported that the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted bill No. 13266 on the establishment of the position of Military Ombudsman. This person will advocate for the rights of military personnel and other individuals related to the security sector and defense. 283 members of parliament voted for this law.
The Senior Lieutenant proposed the introduction of a progressive reward for military personnel, and also noted the lack of systematic recognition of defenders and proposed to introduce a new position of Military Ombudsman.
