Salaries of Officials in August: Who Earns Over 360 Thousand Hryvnias

In August of this year, the salaries of civil servants in Ukraine were striking in their size. According to the Ministry of Finance, the average payment amounted to 61.6 thousand hryvnias, three times exceeding the national average of 19.8 thousand hryvnias according to the Pension Fund. Over the past year, the salaries of civil servants have increased by 8.6%, reaching 55.8 thousand hryvnias in August 2024; however, this wave of growth has been noticeably slower than the inflation rate of 13.2%.

The highest payments were received by employees of the Antimonopoly Committee, the National Anti-Corruption Agency, and the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Public Utilities. Heads of state agencies do not lag behind their subordinates in salary levels, with the average salary of top management amounting to 131.2 thousand hryvnias, and the most profitable positions turned out to be those in the NABU, the Ministry of National Unity, and the Accounting Chamber. Thus, the statistics indicate a rather significant diversity in the amounts paid to civil servants in Ukraine.
