Decline in salaries at Russian defense enterprises
For the first time since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, salaries at Russian military-industrial complex enterprises have declined, reported the Center for Counteracting Disinformation.
According to the Center, the peak salary growth at Russian defense factories was recorded in 2022. After starting the invasion of Ukraine, the Russian government sharply increased state orders for weapons, which required hiring new personnel.
The Center noted that companies can no longer increase production by hiring new personnel and through overtime work. Crisis phenomena in the Russian economy have also affected military production. The Russian state can no longer invest large sums of budget funds in defense enterprises due to limited access to high-interest loans.
Even with all the efforts of Russian propaganda to prove that the Russian economy is stable, problems in the industrial market are already being felt by even military-industrial complex enterprises that receive government support.
The decline in salaries at Russian defense enterprises indicates that the crisis phenomena in the Russian economy are gradually reflecting on the military sector. Russian companies can no longer easily increase production due to limited availability of new personnel and financial difficulties, which may affect their activities in the future.
