The average salary of employees in Ukraine reached 33,153 UAH in September, exceeding the August salary level by 4%. At the same time, the disparity between regions remains significant: in Kyiv, the figure is more than twice as high as in Kirovohrad region. This is reported by State Statistics Service.

Average salary by regions of Ukraine in September 2026

The highest average salary was recorded in the capital. Lviv and Kyiv regions also exceeded the national average, although the gap from it is significantly smaller.

Regions with the highest salaries:

  1. Kyiv: 48,994 UAH.

  2. Lviv region: 33,802 UAH.

  3. Kyiv region: 33,585 UAH.

The lowest figures are in Kirovohrad region, 23,673 UAH, Chernihiv region, 24,455 UAH, and Chernivtsi region, 24,567 UAH. According to the editors' calculations, the difference between Kyiv and Kirovohrad region is 25,321 UAH, or approximately 107%.

These amounts should not be directly compared with salaries in job vacancies. The State Statistics Service accounts for the accrued salary of employees, while job search sites analyze employer offers. These are different indicators with different scopes.

Salaries by sectors in Ukraine: leaders and laggards in September 2026

The highest salaries were in the information and telecommunications sector, 77,924 UAH. In financial and insurance activities, the average salary was 59,813 UAH, and in professional, scientific and technical activities, 43,594 UAH.

In trade, the figure reached 38,433 UAH, in industry, 36,658 UAH, in transport and postal and courier services, 31,600 UAH. In construction, the average pay was 28,532 UAH.

The lowest sector salaries:

  • health care and social assistance: 21,848 UAH;

  • arts, sports, entertainment and recreation: 22,103 UAH;

  • education: 24,457 UAH.

The overall growth of 4% does not mean an increase for every employee. The average is calculated from the total fund of accrued salaries, so high payments to a part of the staff pull the figure up. It does not reflect the amount that most receive.

As of October 1, salary debts amounted to 3.9 billion UAH. Therefore, the increase in accruals does not guarantee timely payment. At the same time, the shortage of workers in sectors coexists with a reduction in vacancies, and earning opportunities depend on profession and region.
