Head of the parliamentary committee on education, science and innovation, Serhiy Babak, shared news with ZN.UA about a possible salary increase for teachers in Ukraine. The Verkhovna Rada has supported changes to the draft law regarding the increase in salaries for education workers.
'Teachers, of course, are skeptical about this, as their expectations have previously proven to be futile due to the government not fulfilling its promises. However, this time, the changes I have made provide for the redistribution of 53 billion hryvnias for raising salaries for educators. So will teachers' salaries be increased? Absolutely!'
According to Babak, there are no exact figures regarding salary increases yet, but the issue is being discussed by the government. 'The ball is in the court of the Ministry of Finance and the government. We will cooperate with them over the next two weeks, hoping for a positive outcome,' he added.
