Additional vacations for military personnel in Ukraine have become relevant again. According to information, the norm of 14 additional vacation days for combatants is now guaranteed by law. Previously, this opportunity did not exist, and military personnel were only granted 30 days of vacation. These changes are explained by the Deputy Head of the President's Office, Pavel Palisa.
According to Palisa, everyone previously had 30 days of vacation. The supported bill added a provision for combatants of an extra 14 days of vacation per year. As for the guaranteed 15 days of vacation per year for military personnel, there was no such provision before.
It is also clarified that a mechanism for compensating unused vacation days is being developed not after dismissal, but on an annual basis. There is also a provision for receiving additional vacation days for travel to each type of vacation. For the first time, Ukrainian military personnel are guaranteed 15 days of vacation per year. Moreover, the recently adopted law ensures that servicemen receive monetary compensation for unused vacation days in case of dismissal.
In addition to these changes, the government has launched the 'Contract 18-24' program for drone operators who will serve in the Armed Forces, National Guard, and State Border Guard Service. Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, noted that changes will also be made to the basic military training system, as this is of crucial importance for the resilience of Ukrainian troops.
Ukrainian military personnel have received new benefits and opportunities regarding vacations and compensation for unused days. Also important is the launch of the program for drone operators and changes in the basic training system, which will help improve the condition of the country's servicemen.
