Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Oleksandr Myshchenko participated in the Forum of Ukrainians of Eastern Europe, which took place in Przemyśl, Poland. The theme of the event was 'Ukrainians of Eastern Europe: unity, strength, future.'
Representatives of the Ukrainian and European congresses of Ukrainians, leaders of Ukrainian communities, clergy, volunteers, military, and diplomats gathered at the Forum. During the panel discussion, Myshchenko emphasized the importance of providing assistance to support the Defense Forces of Ukraine and urged Ukrainian communities abroad to unite their efforts.
The support of our partners in the field of security and defense is a key prerequisite for ensuring a just peace for Ukraine.
Special attention was paid to bilateral relations between Ukraine and Poland, the importance of military aid from Poland, and Russia's attempts to undermine the unity of the international community. Participants in the discussion discussed the role of communities in supporting Ukraine and countering Russian disinformation.
Experience and Challenges
At the Forum, Myroslav Skirka, Nataliya Panchenko, Bohdan Moisey, Daria Russu, and Halyna Andrushkov spoke. Participants shared their experiences of volunteering and highlighted the problems of Ukrainians in Poland, Moldova, and Romania.
At the end of his visit, Oleksandr Myshchenko, together with the Ambassador of Ukraine in Poland and the Honorary Consul of Ukraine in Przemyśl, honored the memory of those who fought for freedom and independence, buried at the Ukrainian military cemetery in Pykulice.
The participation of Ukrainian representatives in the Forum of Ukrainians of Eastern Europe in Przemyśl demonstrates the importance of cooperation and support of the Ukrainian diaspora for Ukraine, especially in light of modern challenges and threats.
