Detention of the head of 'Kyivteploenergo'
In Kyiv, the head of the municipal enterprise 'Kyivteploenergo' was detained in connection with the fall of a 16-year-old girl into a pit with boiling water. The incident occurred on Lobanovskyi Avenue, where the girl suffered serious burns covering 73% of her body.
According to law enforcement, on January 2, 2026, employees of 'Kyivteploenergo' were carrying out work at the site of a damaged heat network. As a result of this work, a cavity formed in the asphalt that was not properly fenced off. Officials failed to ensure the installation of warning signs, leading to the tragedy.
Investigation and consequences
At the moment, a notice of suspicion has been prepared for the detainee under part 2 of Article 272 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The authorities are investigating the circumstances of the incident to clarify all the details and those responsible for this situation.
