Twin Bomb Blasts Strike Bucha

A double terrorist attack occurred in Bucha on March 23, leaving two police officers wounded. Authorities have detained a 21-year-old local resident who, according to the investigation, was acting on orders from Russian intelligence services. The suspect is reported to have independently constructed two bombs, which were equipped with mobile phones for remote detonation. The first explosive device detonated around 5:35 AM near an apartment building, with the second blast following at 7:35 AM near a garbage container.

The detained individual, born in 2004, was recruited online by handlers from the Russian Federation. The investigation has already identified other persons involved in the crime. The case is being investigated under terrorism charges. The events in Bucha are not isolated. This incident highlights the ongoing hybrid warfare tactics employed against Ukraine, which extend beyond the front lines.

“Prosecutors believe this is part of a systematic campaign of explosive attacks by Russian intelligence services, aimed at targeting law enforcement, military personnel, and civilian security within the country.”

Escalating Terrorist Threat

Similar attacks have already been recorded in Lviv, Kyiv, Dnipro, Mykolaiv, and Odesa, indicating a growing threat from terrorist elements. Ruslan Kravchenko also emphasized: “We are doing everything possible to ensure that neither the perpetrator, the organizers, nor the masterminds evade responsibility.”

In connection with these events, authorities are urging citizens to report any suspicious online job offers, discovered suspicious objects, or recruitment attempts to the hotline 0800501482, an official email, or a dedicated Telegram chatbot.
