Application Window Now Closed
The deadline for workers to apply for a 20,000 hryvnia bonus for repairing critical infrastructure damaged by shelling has now passed. This government support program, which concluded on March 15, was designed to aid personnel involved in emergency restoration efforts and received significant interest, according to the Ministry of Energy. This initiative is part of broader efforts to support Ukraine's recovery and maintain essential services during the ongoing conflict.
Funding and Applicant Numbers
In February 2026 alone, 14,806 workers submitted applications for this payment. The 20,000 hryvnia bonus is designated for employees of fuel and energy sector companies, housing and communal services, and Ukrainian Railways, regardless of ownership structure. For January 2026, payments were already made to 12,300 repair crew workers. To fund this program, the government allocated 246.4 million hryvnia from the state budget's reserve fund.
On March 16, the government refined the state aid mechanism. The changes now include team leaders officially assigned to manage emergency crews during restoration work. Furthermore, employees from other sectors can qualify if they were officially dispatched to these tasks following a request from regional or Kyiv city military administrations. Each eligible worker participating in emergency repairs will receive the 20,000 hryvnia bonus for January, February, and March.
The Ministry of Energy clarified the process, stating: 'Workers do not need to apply individually. Employers compile and submit the lists via the Diia portal between the 6th and 15th of the following month. Funds are transferred to existing accounts without opening new ones—no later than the end of the month following the month in which the work was performed.'
The updated rules also allow for the revision of lists of enterprises and workers who were involved in repair work but were omitted from the initial submissions due to specific circumstances. 'This data will be submitted through the Diia portal,' added the Energy Ministry.
This program represents a crucial measure to support the personnel rebuilding Ukraine's damaged infrastructure, which is vital for national stability. By expanding eligibility and streamlining the application process through the Diia portal, the government aims to implement the aid more effectively, a critical need in the context of post-combat recovery.
As the government continues to support the restoration of vital infrastructure, it's essential to note that the initial payments have already been disbursed to eligible workers.
