Unrest in Iran: over 500 dead, Trump promises 'tough options' for action

Ситуація в Ірані: понад п'ятисот загиблих, Трамп обіцяє рішучі кроки у відповідь.

Mass Protests in Iran

Mass protests continue in Iran, resulting in the deaths of over 500 individuals. Among the victims are 490 protesters and 48 security personnel. Since the unrest began on December 28, when protests erupted against sharp price increases, over 10,600 people have been detained.

The Iranian authorities have accused the US and Israel of fomenting unrest, which, according to Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, is part of a scheme to destabilize the situation in the country. In response to these events, the Iranian government declared a three-day national mourning. It has also been reported that 30 security personnel will be buried in Isfahan.

International Reaction

US President Donald Trump is discussing potential actions regarding Iran, stating:

'The military is studying the situation, and we are considering very tough options.'

He also emphasized that the US is ready to assist the protesters, saying: 'Iran is looking at FREEDOM, perhaps like never before.' Meanwhile, Iranian political figure Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf stressed that in the event of an attack on Iran, occupied territories and all US bases and ships would become legitimate targets.

The situation in the country remains tense, and three Israeli sources reported a state of heightened military readiness in Israel. Protests continue to raise concerns on the international stage, and the response of world leaders to events in Iran remains under close scrutiny. At the same time, Reza Pahlavi urged protesters not to leave the streets, emphasizing the importance of their struggle for freedom.

Current events in Iran demonstrate deep socio-economic issues that have caused mass protests. Rising prices and political repression are prompting people to take to the streets, demanding change. An important component of this situation is the international reaction, particularly the stance of the US, which could influence the further actions of the Iranian government and the protesters.

Tension between Iran and the US, as well as Iran and Israel, could lead to an escalation of conflict in the region, requiring careful observation by the global community.
