The French national team has announced the squad for the September matches of the qualifying round for the 2026 World Cup. Head coach Didier Deschamps called up 23 players to prepare for the matches against Ukraine and Iceland.

  • Goalkeepers: Mike Maignan, Lucas Chevalier, Brice Samba.

  • Defenders: Lucas Digne, Malo Gusto, Theo Hernandez, Ibrahima Konate, Jules Kounde, William Saliba, Dayot Upamecano, Lucas Hernandez.

  • Midfielders: Manu Kone, Aurelien Tchouameni, Khephren Thuram, Desire Doue, Adrien Rabiot.

  • Forwards: Magnès Akliouche, Rayan Cherki, Kylian Mbappe, Michael Olise, Marcus Thuram, Bradley Barcola, Ousmane Dembele.



The matches of the national teams of Ukraine and France will take place on September 5 in Wroclaw and September 9 in Paris, as part of the qualification for the 2026 World Cup. Ukraine will play in Group D along with Azerbaijan, Iceland, and France.

UEFA has 16 spots. The qualification will include two rounds, starting with the first round of qualifying and play-off mini-tournaments in the second round.


Other continents will also have the opportunity to secure spots for the championship, a total of 48 places will be contested for national teams.

The competition will take place in 16 cities of Canada, Mexico, and the USA, with the opening match in Mexico City on June 11 and the final match in New York on July 19.


Unfortunately, Russia has been banned from participating in qualifying for this tournament.
