The Ukraine national handball team has announced the roster for the Euro 2026 championship, which includes 18 players. Preparation for this important tournament began in early January. To prepare, the team held a friendly tournament, the Yellow Cup, in Winterthur, Switzerland, where the Ukrainian players had the opportunity to test their skills before official matches.

At the Yellow Cup, the Ukraine national team played three matches: the team won against Bahrain with a score of 33:31 but suffered defeats against the tournament hosts – Switzerland (27:38) and North Macedonia (26:31). The head coach of the team, Vadim Brazhnik, prepared a roster that includes:

  • 3 goalkeepers
  • 2 left wingers
  • 2 right wingers
  • 3 centers
  • 3 left backs
  • 2 right backs
  • 3 line players

The competition at Euro 2026 will begin for the Ukraine national team on January 15 with a match against Norway, followed by meetings with France on January 17 and the Czech Republic on January 19. To continue competing in the tournament, Ukraine must take one of the top two places in its group. It should be noted that the team secured 10th place in the overall medal tally of the European Youth Olympic Festival.

The Euro 2026 championship will be an important step for the Ukraine national handball team, as the team aims to improve its results on the international stage. Participation in the friendly tournament Yellow Cup allowed the players to assess their strengths before the official matches and identify weaknesses for further improvement. Based on the preparation results, the Ukrainian team has every chance for a successful performance in the qualification and to continue fighting for advancement to the next stages of the tournament.
