FIBA Power Rankings Update
FIBA has released the fifth edition of its Power Rankings for the European qualifiers leading to the 2027 World Cup, with Ukraine’s men’s national team maintaining the 18th spot. This ranking also outlines the positions of Ukraine’s opponents in Group A. Spain remains in third place, Georgia has dropped to 25th, and Denmark holds steady at 30th.
According to the latest data, the top 10 of FIBA's Smart Power Rankings are as follows:

- 5. Poland
- 6. Germany
- 7. Croatia
- 8. Lithuania
- 9. Greece
- 10. Italy
In terms of qualifying games, Ukraine suffered two defeats against Spain: 66:86 in the third round and 78:64 in the fourth round.
Fortunately, Ukraine managed to secure a victory over Denmark in the second round with a score of 88:71, and also won their first qualifying match against Georgia with a score of 79:92. The top scorer in the Georgia vs. Ukraine game was Oleksandr Kovliar, who netted 31 points in 37 minutes of play. Oleksandr Lypovyi added 13 points, while Viacheslav Bobrov finished with a double-double, recording 11 points and 15 rebounds.

The positions of Group A teams in the Smart Power Rankings are as follows:
- Spain - 3rd place
- Ukraine - 18th place
- Georgia - 25th place
- Denmark - 30th place
