The Ukrainian national team in ski acrobatics has ambitious plans for the 2026 Olympic Games, counting on seven Olympic licenses. The head coach of the team, Oleksandr Abramenko, shared details about the preparation for the competitions as well as the results at the World Cup. Ukrainian athletes demonstrated good results at the first stage of the World Cup, where Oleksandr Okipnyuk took first place, and three representatives of the country – Dmytro Kotovskyi, Yan Havryuk, and Maksym Kuznietsov – reached the finals in China. Dmytro Kotovskyi finished the final in fourth place.

A historic season for the Ukrainian national team

This season has been historic for the Ukrainian national team, which for the first time in history fielded two teams in team competitions. Oleksandr Abramenko noted that before the start of the season, the team held a winter training camp in Finnish Ruka, which helped the athletes prepare for the competitions. The team will depart for America on December 29, 2025, and will arrive in Canada on January 2, 2026, to participate in the first two stages of the World Cup.

The final ranking for Olympic licenses will be known on January 13, 2026. The Ukrainian team is counting on:

  • four licenses for men
  • three licenses for women

The Olympic Games will start on February 6, 2026, in Milan-Cortina. Oleksandr Abramenko emphasized:

In general, the coach noted that 'everyone is healthy, we are working further' and 'the new year, as always, will be met abroad.'

The Ukrainian national team in ski acrobatics is preparing for an important international start, highlighting the growing potential of Ukrainian athletes on the world stage. Successes at the World Cup, as well as the historic representation of two teams, indicate a positive trend in the development of this sport in Ukraine. The time leading up to the Olympic Games will be critical for the team, which aims to confirm its ambitions and gain recognition at the highest level.
