The Ukrainian women's wrestling team won first place in the team standings at the U20 European Championship. In Caorle, Italy, our athletes won four medals. In particular, gold medals were awarded to Anastasia Polskaya (53 kg), Alexandra Ryabik (68 kg), and Nadiya Sokolovska (76 kg), while Irina Borysyuk (65 kg) took home the bronze medal.
It is also worth noting that the Ukrainian Greco-Roman wrestling team took third place in the team standings at the U20 European Championship in Italy. Our wrestlers won seven medals, with Egor Yakushenko (97 kg) and Vladislav Pokotilo (67 kg) receiving silver, while bronze medals were awarded to Pavel Toryanyk (87 kg), Ivan Yankovsky (130 kg), Maksut Sultans (60 kg), Anatoly Pasnyak (72 kg), and Kirill Shnirov (82 kg).
Ukrainian juniors also demonstrated high results at the European Diving Championship. The competition took place in the capital of Greece - Athens, where the Ukrainian team showcased impressive achievements. A total of 176 athletes from 27 countries participated in the events, with Ukraine represented by 13 athletes, including newcomers.
By winning a total of 12 medals, our juniors displayed a high level of skill, courage, and team spirit. Ultimately, Ukraine secured 6 gold, 3 silver, and 3 bronze medals.
The events at the European championships in wrestling and diving demonstrated a high level of preparation among Ukrainian athletes. The Ukrainian teams achieved significant results, with some athletes winning gold, reflecting the high competitiveness of Ukrainian sports in Europe.
