Preparation for the 2026 Olympic Games
The Ukrainian snowboarding team is actively preparing for the 2026 Olympic Games. The head coach of the team, Valeriy Belinsky, commented on the start of the season and the preparations, noting the progress of the well-known athlete Annemaria Danchy. She is a silver medalist of the 2019 World Championship in parallel slalom and has experience participating in four Olympic Games. Currently, the team has one guaranteed license for Danchy, while Mykhailo Kharkov and Nadiya Hapatin are fighting for two more licenses.
Plans and Training
According to the plans, on January 5, 2026, the team will set off to a new location - the Olympic course in Livigno. This course remains closed for descents, but trials are scheduled for January. Valeriy Belinsky emphasized that the main competitions for the team are the World Cup stages, which are critical for qualification for the Olympic Games.
Moreover, the coach reported that in December 2025, the team completed the entire planned program, allowing them to look optimistically towards future competitions and preparations for the Olympics. The fourth place at the final stage of the World Cup became the best result in Annemaria Danchy's career, which indicates her progress and readiness for new challenges.
