Ukraine’s Shooting Team Secures 15 Medals at European Championships

Outstanding Performance by Ukrainian Athletes at the European Championships

Competing in Osijek, Croatia, until May 18, Ukraine’s national shooting team has turned in an exceptional showing at the European Shooting Championships. The squad collected 11 medals in the senior category and 4 among juniors, highlighting the depth of talent in the country’s shooting program.

Key Achievements on the Range

On May 11, Ukrainian shooters earned multiple medals in the 25-meter standard pistol event. Notable results include:

  • Volodymyr Pasternak claimed gold in the men’s individual competition;
  • The men’s team, featuring Pavlo Korostylov and Maksym Horodynets, also took gold;
  • Olena Kostevych secured silver in the women’s event;
  • Her team (Anastasiia Nimets, Yuliia Korostylova) won silver as well;
  • Pavlo Korostylov earned a bronze medal in the men’s category;
  • Vladyslav Medushevskyi captured gold in the junior division;
  • Oleksii Tsion added another bronze for the juniors.

On May 12, the success continued in the 50-meter free pistol event. The senior men’s team—Ihor Solovei, Viktor Bankin, and Oleh Omelchuk—won gold. The junior squad (Maksym Hymon, Maksym Kaminskyi, Ivan Martyniuk) also claimed gold. Individually, Ihor Solovei took silver, and Maksym Kaminskyi earned bronze.

In total, the senior Ukrainian team amassed 11 medals, while the juniors contributed 4, underscoring the high level of training and skill among the country’s shooters.

These results reflect Ukraine’s strong shooting traditions and the effective work of coaches and athletes.
