The Rakuten Viber team conducted a survey among Ukrainians, asking participants about the duration of their sleep and whether they turn off notifications on their smartphones during rest.

  • More than 30 thousand respondents aged 34 to 45 participated in the study.

  • The survey revealed that 57% of Ukrainians sleep more than 7 hours, while 36% of respondents allocate 4 to 6 hours of sleep on average.

Sleep mode and smartphone notifications

In response to the question about sleep duration, Ukrainians distributed themselves as follows:

  • 7-8 hours - 43%

  • 4-6 hours - 36%

  • More than 8 hours - 14%

  • Less than 4 hours - 4%

  • I sleep little on weekdays, but catch up on weekends - 3%

Interestingly, 34% of respondents always turn off notifications on their smartphones during sleep, while another 9% do this selectively. Meanwhile, 37% of respondents do not turn off notifications because they do not wake up from them.

The survey showed that the majority of Ukrainians sleep from 7 to 8 hours a night, but there are also those who manage with less than 4 hours of sleep. Many respondents also admitted that they turn off notifications on their smartphones during sleep, although the share of those who do not turn them off is also significant.
