Ukrainian President's Participation in Video Conference

On April 1, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will participate in a video conference with representatives from the United States and NATO. The meeting will include US Special Presidential Envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. The discussions will focus on the current situation and the potential for advancing trilateral agreements. This high-level diplomatic engagement underscores the continued international focus on the conflict in Ukraine.

Meanwhile, Secretary of Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council, Rustem Umerov, is currently in Türkiye to conduct negotiations. Ukraine has reiterated its stance on the necessity of continuing peace talks but has stated it will not agree to hold such meetings in Russia or Belarus. The American side had proposed holding trilateral talks in the United States, but the Russian side declined this offer.

Hopes for Constructive Dialogue

President Zelenskyy expressed hope for a constructive dialogue: 'A conversation with the American side in video format was planned for tomorrow. I will join, they also asked me to. I discussed this last night with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.'

He also noted: 'We continue important negotiations with several states.' Participants in the conference hope to discuss pathways toward arranging trilateral meetings and agreements. The involvement of senior US and NATO figures highlights the West's strategic interest in supporting Ukraine's diplomatic efforts.

President Zelenskyy's participation in this video conference with US and NATO representatives emphasizes the critical importance of international backing for Ukraine within the context of trilateral negotiations. The situation demands active diplomacy, as these talks could significantly influence the future trajectory of the conflict and the prospects for achieving peace in the region. Ukraine's firm position against holding talks in aggressor nations further demonstrates its commitment to protecting its national interests and sovereignty.
