Contacts between Ukraine and the USA
The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky reported on active contacts between the Ukrainian team and the American side regarding security cooperation and diplomacy. This statement by the head of state came at the end of the 1547th day of the war. Zelensky emphasized that if there is an opportunity to return to meaningful trilateral communication and involve European partners, it would be the right outcome.
At the same time, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov noted that the peace process regarding Ukraine is currently on pause. He also stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin is ready to meet with Zelensky in Moscow at any moment. However, Zelensky has repeatedly emphasized his readiness for direct negotiations only outside of Russia and Belarus. The Kremlin acknowledged the complexity of the current phase of negotiations with Ukraine. Peskov added that reaching a peace agreement will take a lot of time.
Hope for a constructive dialogue
Zelensky also expressed hope for the readiness of partners to take constructive steps towards peaceful settlement.
