Plan to End the War in Ukraine
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky is ready to put the plan to end the war to a referendum, provided there is a 60-day ceasefire from Russia. The peace plan of US President Donald Trump, which involves territorial concessions from Ukraine, is being discussed. Zelensky believes that a 60-day ceasefire is the minimum necessary to organize the vote.
A senior US official reported on Russia's demand for a shorter ceasefire period. Despite this, Zelensky has not received any reaction from Russia regarding his 20-point peace plan. One important aspect of this plan is point 13, which provides for the implementation of educational programs to eliminate racism and biases.
Negotiations and Peace Settlement
Zelensky emphasized that an important step in the negotiation process is to ensure a lasting ceasefire. He noted:
“A 60-day ceasefire is the minimum” - Volodymyr Zelensky.
The President of Ukraine also mentioned that he is in communication with the American side, which in turn is communicating with Moscow. This indicates active efforts from both sides to find a way out of the conflict and the possibility of a peaceful settlement.
The search for a peaceful resolution to the conflict in Ukraine remains a pressing issue that generates significant interest on the international stage. An important condition for moving forward is a lasting ceasefire, which, according to Zelensky, must serve as the foundation for organizing a referendum. Noting that President Trump's peace plan is already being discussed, Ukraine needs to approach the issue of territorial concessions carefully to ensure stability in the region and meet the interests of all parties.
