Ukraine's peace plan and tensions with Russia

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is preparing the details of a 20-point peace plan to present to Russia. This comes against a backdrop of accusations from Russia, which claims that Ukraine is evading negotiations ahead of the scheduled meeting between Zelensky and former U.S. President Donald Trump in Miami on Sunday. Sergey Lavrov, Russia's foreign minister, asserts that Europe has become the main obstacle to peace.

Military escalation and Ukraine's response

This week, Russia launched massive attacks, firing over 2,100 strike drones, about 800 guided aerial bombs, and 94 missiles of various types. During these attacks, especially on Saturday, over a million households in Kyiv and the surrounding area were left without electricity.

Zelensky: 'These are the most active diplomatic days of the year.'

Zelensky also noted that Ukraine is ready to withdraw troops from the frontline if Russia does the same. Additionally, he emphasized the need to transfer the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant under international control. Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin warned that if Ukraine does not accept the proposed conditions, Russia will achieve its goals on the battlefield. These events indicate the continuation of tensions between the countries and Ukraine's efforts for a peaceful resolution of the conflict.

The situation surrounding the peace process between Ukraine and Russia remains critical, as both sides continue to demonstrate different approaches to resolving the conflict. The high level of military activity from Russia, as well as Ukraine's calls for international control over strategically important facilities like the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, suggest that diplomatic efforts may be complicated by military actions.

It is expected that the upcoming meeting between Zelensky and Trump could influence international support for Ukraine in the context of peace negotiations.
