Zelenskyy and Tusk Hold Talks in Lublin
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met in Lublin to discuss several pressing bilateral issues. The meeting between the two leaders came at a time of heightened tension due to Russia's war in Ukraine, reinforcing the close ties between the neighboring countries.

Zelenskyy stressed that anti-ballistic defense is a top priority for Ukraine, stating:
“We also discussed defense cooperation and priority measures to protect our cities and communities from brutal Russian attacks. Anti-ballistics is a key priority. The security and protection of Ukraine are also the security and protection of Poland. Our collaboration strengthens both our region and all of Europe.” – Volodymyr Zelenskyy
He further highlighted the need to ensure the safety of Ukrainians who have taken refuge in Poland: “We separately addressed security challenges that, unfortunately, also affect our people: it is crucial that Ukrainians forced to leave their homes due to war and who have found shelter in Poland feel safe.”
Donald Tusk confirmed that they reviewed the progress of negotiations in Washington, along with Polish investment projects in Ukraine, anti-missile cooperation, and ongoing support for Ukraine’s fight against Russia. “President Zelenskyy briefed me on the status of talks in Washington. We also discussed Polish investments in Ukraine, anti-missile collaboration, and support for Ukraine in its struggle against the Russian aggressor,” Tusk noted.

Against the backdrop of the meeting, news emerged of an attack on a Ukrainian couple in Wrocław, where three men assaulted and beat them. Tusk called on Polish President Andrzej Duda to publicly condemn the attack. In response, Presidential Spokesperson Rafał Leskiewicz stated that responsibility for street safety lies with Poland’s government. Meanwhile, the government accused the Law and Justice (PiS) party of inciting hatred toward Ukrainians, sparking discussions in the media and among politicians.
