The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, expressed optimism regarding security guarantees for the country. He noted that negotiations on this matter have already made serious progress, emphasizing that most members of the US Congress are responding positively to this idea. These guarantees, in particular, are to be legally binding and will be a response to potential violations of the peace agreements by Russia.
Moreover, US President Donald Trump also supported the idea of providing security for Ukraine, pointing to the importance of joint efforts by the US and Europe in this matter. The Trump administration is already ready to give Ukraine legally binding security guarantees based on Article 5 of the NATO Statute.
Ukraine continues to actively seek support for security guarantees from other countries to avoid a repeat of the conflict with Russia. The importance of these guarantees for Ukraine was also emphasized by other representatives, reminding of the necessity for universal and collectively supported pressure on Moscow to resolve the conflict.
