Ukrainian Energy Workers Receive Presidential Honors

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has presented state awards to eight energy sector employees from the company DTEK. These honors recognize their crucial contributions to maintaining the stability of Ukraine's power grid. The awards highlight the vital daily work of energy professionals who repair and restore the country's energy systems and networks following hostile attacks.

List of Award Recipients

  • Eduard Kashkov was awarded the title of Honored Energy Worker of Ukraine.
  • Valentyn Astafiev, Oleksandr Zinchenko, and Vitaliy Kolisnyk were decorated with the Order of Merit, Third Class.
  • Ihor Pustovoit received the Order of Courage, Third Class.
  • Ruslan Lobanov and Mykola Poliakov were awarded the Medal For Labor and Valor.
  • Pavlo Poliakov was honored with the Order For Valiant Miner's Labor, Third Class.

This ceremony follows a previous event where 11 DTEK energy workers were also given state awards by the president for restoring power after shelling. These decorations acknowledge the dedication and professionalism of the workers who ensure the stability of Ukraine's energy system. The energy sector has been a primary target during the conflict, making the work of these individuals exceptionally dangerous and critical to national resilience.

The recognition of these energy workers underscores the sector's indispensable role in wartime, as energy infrastructure is frequently targeted. State awards serve not only as recognition of personal achievement but also as a powerful signal of support for all industry personnel who work daily to protect and rebuild the nation's power grid.
