Foreign Statesmen Recognized with Presidential Awards
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed a decree awarding state honors and presidential distinctions to several foreign politicians. The document was published on the official website of the head of state. This move acknowledges the contributions of international figures who have supported Ukraine and its European integration path. The recognition comes at a time when Kyiv continues to strengthen diplomatic ties with its European allies.
Among the honorees is Mona Neubaur, who received the Order of Princess Olga, Third Class. Neubaur serves as Deputy Minister-President and Minister for Economic Affairs, Industry, Climate Protection and Energy of the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia (Federal Republic of Germany). Additionally, three foreign politicians were awarded the Presidential Distinction 'Golden Heart':
- Serge Grouard, Mayor of Orléans (French Republic)
- Mathieu Klein, Mayor of Nancy (French Republic)
- Andrzej Józef Pietrasik, Mayor of Płońsk (Republic of Poland)
Greetings to the State Special Communications Service Warriors
Furthermore, President Zelenskyy extended his congratulations to the personnel of the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection on their professional holiday. Ukraine observes the Day of the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection on May 25, a holiday established in April 2021. The founding of this holiday traces back to events in 2006, when on May 25, a new agency was formed from the remnants of a dissolved SBU unit. This date marks a significant milestone in the history of Ukraine's state service.
Granting state awards to foreign politicians highlights the critical importance of international support for Ukraine, especially in light of its European aspirations and fight for sovereignty. This gesture underscores the strong bonds between Ukraine and its European partners, as well as recognition of their contributions to strengthening Ukrainian statehood.
In turn, the congratulations to the State Special Communications Service warriors also demonstrate attention to key institutions that ensure the country's information security—a matter of utmost importance in the current environment.
In addition to honoring foreign politicians, President Zelenskyy has also recognized the bravery of Ukrainian soldiers, highlighting the nation's commitment to its defenders. This emphasis on awards illustrates the importance of both international support and domestic valor in Ukraine's ongoing struggle.
