Zelensky demands sanctions against Russia
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Russia must feel the consequences of its actions and named three conditions that could stop the aggression. He wrote about this in his Telegram.
Zelensky noted that Russia must bear full responsibility for its actions and their consequences on Ukrainian territory. 'Sufficient resistance is needed to force it to peace. This can be achieved with sufficient strength in our army, our long-range capabilities, strong sanctions against Russia, and strong pressure,' he emphasized.
Noting that Ukraine defends itself almost daily from Russian attacks, Zelensky highlighted the large number of strike drones, aerial bombs, and missiles that were used this week. Moreover, he pointed out that this weaponry contained thousands of foreign components from various countries.
The necessity of sanctions to stop Russia
According to the president, strong sanctions are a tool that can stop Russia's aggression. He called for shutting down all possible supply and circumvention routes for sanctions, pressuring countries and companies that assist Russia. Zelensky hopes that the 19th EU sanctions package will be effective, and that the United States will also join this process.
During his statement on Telegram, Volodymyr Zelensky highlighted the alarming situation on the Ukrainian front and expressed confidence that only with an appropriate community response to Russia's aggression can peace and stability be achieved in the region.
