Heavy Losses for Russian Forces

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced that Russian forces suffered severe casualties in April. According to reports from military command and the defense minister, Moscow lost more than 35,000 troops—both killed and seriously wounded—over the course of the month. This figure underscores the heavy toll combat is taking on Russian units.

Ukrainian Forces Step Up Operations

April also saw a notable surge in so-called "mid-range strikes"—attacks carried out at distances of 20 kilometers or more. The number of such strikes doubled compared to March and quadrupled compared to February. This growth highlights the expanding tactical capabilities of Ukraine’s military.

Additionally, Ukrainian ground robotic systems completed over 10,200 logistics and evacuation missions during April. Looking ahead, military leaders and the Defense Ministry have set a target for further increasing these numbers in May.

“We will continue to ramp up production of all types of drones and robotic systems,” Zelenskyy stated.

The loss of such a large number of personnel could significantly weaken Russia’s combat effectiveness, potentially altering the dynamics on the battlefield. Ukraine’s increased use of mid-range strikes and the growing role of robotic systems reflect a steady refinement of its military strategies, which could improve its chances in future operations. These tactical shifts on both sides may prove decisive in shaping the front-line situation.

The ongoing conflict continues to escalate, with reports indicating that the Ukrainian military has inflicted nearly 1,000 Russian casualties in just one day, alongside a record number of destroyed drones. This alarming trend underscores the significant pressure on Russian forces and highlights the effectiveness of Ukraine's evolving military strategies.
