Presidents of Ukraine and Azerbaijan Hold Phone Talks
On May 6, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke by phone with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. The two leaders reviewed the implementation of agreements reached during Zelenskyy’s official visit to Azerbaijan on April 25. That trip marked his first as president to the country, during which six documents were signed covering areas including defense and energy.
The April 25 meeting was the seventh encounter between Zelenskyy and Aliyev in four years. During their May 6 call, the presidents coordinated next steps for advancing bilateral ties between Ukraine and Azerbaijan and exchanged details on their engagements with other partners.
I spoke with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev about implementing the steps we agreed on during my visit to Azerbaijan a few weeks ago. We continue working to develop both bilateral relations between Ukraine and Azerbaijan and ties with other countries in the region to enhance security and stability.
