President Holds Meeting with Volunteers
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting on January 28 with volunteer Tata Kepler to discuss advancing tactical medicine and developing proposals for military support. Kepler has been instrumental in developing tactical medicine and saving soldiers' lives; she will now work with active military medics to draft proposals for necessary solutions.
During the meeting, Zelenskyy stated:
“Tata has provided significant assistance in developing our tactical medicine and in rescuing our soldiers. Our surgeons, all our military medics, perform unique operations, and this lifesaving experience needs to be scaled up as much as possible. This is exactly what we discussed today – the necessary support, decisions, and development.”
The President also emphasized the critical need to supply military units with guaranteed high-quality tactical medical equipment and to revise approaches to training soldiers in medical procedures during combat missions. He thanked Kepler for her role in formulating the relevant proposals.
Other Presidential Meetings
Earlier, on January 15, Zelenskyy met with volunteer Serhiy Sternenko. Just prior to the meeting with Kepler, the head of state also met with volunteer Serhiy Prytula, who proposed using charitable foundations as instruments for purchasing military supplies abroad.
These meetings with volunteers signal an intensification of cooperation between the state and civil society in supporting the military. The development of tactical medicine is a critically important aspect given the security situation in the country, and equipping troops with quality medical gear can significantly impact the effectiveness of frontline care. This underscores the vital role of Ukraine's volunteer movement, which actively contributes to addressing the army's urgent needs.
