Zelensky discussed changes in the border service: its leadership may change

Meeting on the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine

On January 2, 2023, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Igor Klymenko reported to President Volodymyr Zelensky about the activities of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine (SBGSU). During the meeting, issues regarding changes in the operational approaches of the SBGSU were discussed, as well as the possibility of appointing a new head of the service.

Volodymyr Zelensky expressed gratitude for the clear work of the entire system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. He noted that the border guard units, along with other components of the Defense and Security Forces of Ukraine, are fighting for the state on the front line. The President also reported that in the near future Minister Klymenko would present candidates for the replacement of the head of the SBGSU, currently held by Serhiy Dyneko.
