The agreement between Ukraine and Sweden regarding the intention to supply Gripen fighters establishes important cooperation in the defense sector. The agreement involves the procurement of 120-150 aircraft of the E series for the Air Forces of Ukraine.
'This agreement is not aimed at supplies at this moment. About 120-150 Gripen fighters of the E series, which is now starting to be produced. This will allow for the construction of very serious Air Forces of Ukraine. This is the beginning of a long journey of 10-15 years,' said the Prime Minister of Sweden.
The Ukrainian president confirmed the start of pilot training for the efficient operation of these new aircraft. This strategic partnership is aimed at developing the country's Air Forces and enhancing security in the region.
Diplomatic resolution and the situation in Donbass
The president also expressed support for a diplomatic initiative in resolving the conflict in Donbass. Zelensky emphasized the importance of maintaining territorial integrity and support from international partners.
Ukraine is open to diplomatic dialogues but remains firm in its positions regarding the inviolability of its borders and the protection of the rights of its citizens.
