Statement of the President of Ukraine regarding the threat of attacks from Russia
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stated about possible attacks from Russia on government buildings in Kyiv, particularly on the Cabinet of Ministers, and called on international partners to take action. According to Zelensky, the Russian Federation is preparing strikes on the capital of Ukraine, using informational provocations to justify its actions.
'Right now, they are preparing the ground for strikes, probably, on the capital and on government buildings with their statement that their residence was attacked,' – noted Volodymyr Zelensky.
These words were a response to the recent statement of the Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, who on December 29 announced an attack by Ukraine on the residence of the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin.
Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized the importance of an active response from international partners to these threats. 'American leader Donald Trump, his team, and Europeans need to get involved and do relevant work with the people who yesterday were said to really want to end the war,' – he added.
The necessity of international support
These calls indicate the need to consolidate efforts to ensure security in Ukraine in the context of increasing aggression from Russia.
The statements of the President of Ukraine reflect the growing tension in relations between Ukraine and Russia and the need for international support to counter potential threats. In the context of escalating conflict, it is important for international partners to be ready for active actions that can prevent new attacks and ensure stability in the region.
Interaction with international leaders is key to strengthening Ukraine's defense capability and protecting its sovereignty.
