President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that the Russians intend to 'deceive America', but Ukraine will not allow this. As reported by 'Glavkom', the head of state said this in an evening address on August 10.
«Our team is working with the USA. Not a single day do we stop communicating about how to ensure real peace. We understand the Russians' intention to try to deceive America. We will not allow this», – said the president.
Zelensky emphasized that Russia is not showing real actions towards peace, and called for an increase in sanctions and pressure on Russia from the USA, Europe, and other countries.
Trump and Putin will meet in Alaska
The day before, US President Donald Trump confirmed that his meeting with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin will take place in Alaska on August 15.
Former National Security Advisor Mark Lyal stated what can be expected from this meeting, noting that Trump may hope to reach an agreement with Putin.
