Ukraine’s leader addresses the large-scale attack

In the early hours of October 24, Russia carried out a devastating strike across multiple regions of Ukraine. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that eight people lost their lives, including a family of two parents and three children in the village of Radushne, Dnipropetrovsk region. Two other children were rescued from the rubble. Dozens of people were wounded, and widespread destruction occurred in many oblasts. According to Zelenskyy, the attack involved more than 70 missiles—many of them ballistic—and over 280 attack drones. Ukrainian forces successfully destroyed over 260 of those drones.

Zelenskyy underscored that this Russian terror again demonstrates the critical need for protection against missile threats to save lives. He called for urgent assistance, pointing out that delays in the supply of anti-ballistic missiles lead directly to such devastation and casualties: 'Untimely help and delays in delivering anti-ballistic missiles result in exactly this kind of destruction and loss of life we are seeing today.'

This latest assault reinforces the extremely difficult situation Ukraine faces amid the ongoing war. It has prompted fresh calls to the international community for support in countering aggression, emphasizing the importance of swift responses to threats. With constant Russian attacks, safeguarding civilians and infrastructure remains a vital task for Ukrainian authorities and their global partners.
