Зеленський відвідав Сполучені Штати задля переговорів з Трампом після обстрілів Одеси та нафтопереробного заводу в Сизрані.

Visit of the President of Ukraine to the USA

On December 28, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in the United States of America to conduct negotiations with former President Donald Trump. This visit takes place against the backdrop of recent attacks by Russian terrorists on the Ukrainian city of Odesa and the oil refinery in Syzran, located in the Samara region of Russia.

As a result of the drone attack on Odesa, which occurred on the night of December 28, the residential sector in the Primorsky district was impacted. In particular, one of the drones hit the roof of a two-story residential building, causing significant destruction. Moreover, on the same night, drones also attacked the Samara region in Russia, where the city of Syzran, which houses the oil refinery, was targeted.

Negotiations and international support

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Serhiy Kyslytsya confirmed the start of Zelensky's visit to the USA. The Ukrainian president and his delegation have already conducted a round of negotiations with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney. After the meeting with Trump, Zelensky plans to continue talks with European partners scheduled for the next day.

This visit occurs against the backdrop of strained relations between the USA and Europe, which are exacerbated by events in Ukraine, as well as the international community's reaction to Russia's aggression. Zelensky's negotiations with Trump may become an important step in forming international support for Ukraine amid the escalation of the conflict.

The visit of President Zelensky to the USA highlights the importance of international support for Ukraine in the context of Russia's ongoing aggression. In light of the recent attacks, such meetings may become critically important for strengthening cooperation between Ukraine and its international partners.

Successful negotiations may open new opportunities for military and economic assistance, which is necessary in the fight against Russian aggression.
