Zelensky confers the title of Hero of Ukraine to four defenders: who received the highest award

Conferring the Title of Hero of Ukraine

President Volodymyr Zelensky has conferred the title of Hero of Ukraine to four military personnel, recognizing their merits to the state. The corresponding decrees of the head of state are numbered №50-53/2026. This award is a recognition of the heroism and selflessness of Ukraine's defenders.

Military Personnel Who Received the Title

The title of Hero of Ukraine, with the order 'Golden Star', was awarded to:

  • Hizhnyak Oleksandr Serhiyovych, senior lieutenant;
  • Rezonov Artem Serhiyovych, junior sergeant;
  • Kotenko Serhiy Mykolayovych, soldier;
  • Maretskyi Oleksandr Olegovych, soldier.

These military personnel demonstrated exceptional courage and professionalism in fulfilling their duties.

This recognition is an important component of support for the military serving Ukraine, as well as a testament to respect for their service and sacrifice. It is noteworthy that the Invictus Games took place in Düsseldorf in 2023, and are also planned in Vancouver and Whistler for 2025.

The conferring of the title of Hero of Ukraine to military personnel highlights the importance of recognizing the merits and heroism of Ukrainian defenders, playing a key role in shaping a positive image of the army in society.
