President Zelenskyy Appoints Edgar Tokar to Lead Mukachevo District Administration

Edgar Tokar's New Appointment

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has appointed Edgar Tokar as the head of the Mukachevo District State Administration in the Zakarpattia region. The appointment, made on April 20, was formalized by Presidential Decree No. 31/2026-rp. Tokar, a native of Mukachevo born on February 17, 1987, brings extensive public administration experience to the role. This appointment is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen regional governance in Ukraine.

Background and Professional History

Edgar Tokar graduated in 2010 from the Kyiv National University of Internal Affairs, specializing in law. He previously served as head of the same Mukachevo District State Administration from 2021 to 2024. Following that, on March 4, 2025, he was appointed Director of the Department of Nature Reserve Fund at the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine. His next role came on November 26, 2025, as Director of the Department of Protected Areas and Biodiversity at the Ministry of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture of Ukraine.

Beyond his executive roles, Tokar was also elected as a deputy to the Zakarpattia Regional Council of the VIII convocation. He represented the Zakarpattia regional organization of the 'Servant of the People' party and was a member of its parliamentary faction. He is the founder and head of the public organization 'Public Movement Power of Truth' and serves on the regional council's standing committee on budget, as well as the committee on culture, youth and information policy, physical culture, and sports.
