Appointment of new heads of regional state administrations
The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed decrees on the appointment of new heads of regional state administrations in four regions. These changes were officially announced on January 8, 2023. The new heads of regional military administrations are:
- Ruslan Osipenko in Chernivtsi region
- Vitaliy Dyakivnich in Poltava region
- Oleksandr Hanzha in Dnipropetrovsk region
- Nataliya Zabolotna in Vinnytsia region
Before these appointments, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine submitted a proposal to the president regarding new heads of OVAs on January 6, 2023. Zelensky also held interviews with candidates for the positions of five regional military administrations.
Key tasks of the new heads
According to the president, the key tasks of the new heads of OVAs will be:
- strengthening local self-government
- resilience of communities in general
- the ability of regions to help citizens and protect their lives
The regions with new heads include Poltava, Bukovina, Vinnytsia, and Dnipropetrovsk.
These appointments occur in the context of continuing the reform of the management system in Ukraine, which is an important stage in the decentralization process. The new heads of regional military administrations are expected to work on strengthening local institutions and ensuring stability in their regions, which is particularly relevant in the current circumstances.
