Appointment of new heads of regional military administrations
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed decrees on the appointment of new heads of regional military administrations in four regions: Poltava, Chernivtsi, Vinnytsia, and Dnipropetrovsk. The corresponding decisions were made on January 8, 2026.
Prior to this, on January 6, 2026, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine submitted a proposal for the appointment of new heads of the regional administrations. President Zelensky also conducted interviews with candidates for the positions of five regional military administrations, which was an important stage in the selection process for new leaders.
Today, documents regarding the new heads of four regions are already prepared. I have signed these decrees. The heads will be presented soon.

Moreover, the president emphasized that 'the whole day today reports from the government, all services, which are actually working round the clock to eliminate the consequences of Russian strikes' require attention and coordination.
