Appointment of Oleksii Semeniuk
The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree appointing Oleksii Semeniuk as the head of the National Securities and Stock Market Commission. This decision became known due to decree No. 1019/2025, which was recently published.
Oleksii Volodymyrovich Semeniuk received his new position, replacing Ruslan Mahomedov, who previously held this position. Ruslan Mahomedov was appointed head of the National Securities and Stock Market Commission in 2021, but now his activity in this position has ended.
Personnel changes in the government
It should be noted that in September 2023, Oleksii Reznikov was dismissed from his position, which also indicates personnel changes in the Ukrainian government. The appointment of a new head of the commission may influence the further development of financial markets in Ukraine, although the details and plans of Oleksii Semeniuk have not yet been disclosed.
The appointment of Oleksii Semeniuk as the head of the National Securities and Stock Market Commission occurs against the background of general personnel changes in the Ukrainian government, which may indicate a change in approaches to regulating the financial sector. In light of the economic challenges facing the country, the new head of the commission must prepare strategies for stabilizing and developing the securities market, which is important for attracting investments and supporting economic growth. It remains to be seen what further steps the new head of the commission will take, which may determine the course of Ukraine's financial policy in the coming years.
