Zelensky appointed Alexander Vodianikov as a judge of the Constitutional Court

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, appointed Alexander Vodianikov as a judge of the Constitutional Court, as stated in the official decree No. 438 dated June 27. The lawyer has many years of experience, particularly as an advisor to the OSCE in Ukraine.


Alexander Vodianikov has a successful career in international law. After graduating from the Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko National University and Central European University in Budapest, he also defended his doctoral dissertation at the V.M. Koretsky Institute of State and Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.


While working on international OSCE projects and the Justice Reform Support Program in Ukraine, Alexander Vodianikov dealt with issues of conflict, the rule of law, and the protection of human rights, making him a qualified candidate for the position of a judge of the Constitutional Court.



The appointment of Alexander Vodianikov as a judge of the Constitutional Court indicates a growing trust in candidates with experience in international law. His participation in international OSCE projects and justice reforms in Ukraine emphasizes his qualifications as a judge capable of addressing complex issues regarding the constitutionality of legislation.
