Comment from the President of Ukraine on the Duration of the War
President Volodymyr Zelensky commented on the 1418th day of Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine, noting that the war continues in the same territories as 80 years ago, but now Ukraine is fighting on its own. This day has become a symbol of the duration of the conflict in which Ukraine continues to fight for its independence.
Zelensky emphasized that the current war, which has lasted for 1418 days, repeats history, as the war of Nazi Germany against the USSR also lasted the same period. In his speech, he pointed out the systemic problems created by the policy of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
'This says a lot about the system that Putin has built, and simply about him personally,' said the President of Ukraine.
The Situation at the Front
The war is being waged in the territories of Donbas, Slobozhanshchina, and Zaporizhzhia, where Ukrainian forces continue to defend their positions. Zelensky also highlighted the significant losses of Russian troops, which, according to him, amount to no less than 1000 killed per day.
'This Russian madness can only be stopped by the united forces of all of Ukraine's partners,' he emphasized.
The President noted that 'every day of war is a reminder that the world cannot protect itself from the insane.' These words testify to the seriousness of the situation and the need for international support in Ukraine's struggle against aggression.
President Zelensky's comments highlight not only the duration of the conflict but also its historical context, which can influence the perception of the war both internationally and within Ukrainian society. The reference to history, as well as the emphasis on the necessity of international support, underscores the importance of coordinating the actions of allies in the fight against Russian aggression, which remains a key aspect of Ukraine's strategy.
