Zelensky on Russia's escalation: how Ukraine will strengthen the EU Drone Wall

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen during the European Political Community summit. The negotiations focused on recent Russian provocations in the airspace of NATO member countries.


Zelensky emphasized the worsening situation:

'Recent violations of airspace in Denmark, Poland, Romania, Norway, and Estonia are at the center of attention. Russia is escalating, and we discussed how we can respond to these threats.'


The president also proposed the creation of a joint airspace defense system for European countries, where Ukrainian experience could be implemented as part of the European Union's 'Drone Wall' initiative. Zelensky also noted that Ukrainian military personnel are providing support to their colleagues in Denmark for training and experience sharing.


The negotiations also covered the implementation of the PURL initiative, in which Denmark has already invested 90 million euros and plans to continue its participation. Prime Minister Frederiksen was thanked for the new military assistance package of over 360 million euros, which is directed toward Ukrainian production within Danish support.
