Action Plan for Diplomatic Negotiations and the Defense of Ukraine

President Volodymyr Zelensky announced the existence of an action plan for diplomatic negotiations and the defense of Ukraine in case of failure of peaceful settlement. Speaking on January 10, he emphasized the importance of ending the war and the need to pressure Russia to achieve this. Zelensky also mentioned that Mykhailo Fedorov is a candidate for the position of Ukraine's Minister of Defense and expressed hope that lawmakers would support his candidacy as early as next week.

Meetings and International Support

The meeting of Donald Trump's advisors with the Russian special envoy in Paris was part of the American strategy to end the war. At the same time, on January 6, a meeting of the leaders of the 'coalition of the willing' took place in Paris, where issues of security and support for Ukraine were discussed. Zelensky also signed a declaration with French President Emmanuel Macron and leader of the British Labour Party Keir Starmer, indicating international support for Ukraine in its efforts to protect and peacefully resolve the conflict.

Overall, the president stressed the importance of a comprehensive approach to defense and diplomacy, which will serve as the basis for Ukraine's further actions on the international stage.

These events underscore Ukraine's active efforts in seeking a peaceful resolution to the conflict with Russia, as well as the importance of international support in this process. The signed declarations and negotiations with key international partners indicate Ukraine's desire for constructive dialogue, even in conditions of ongoing hostilities. The nomination of a new Minister of Defense may become an important step in ensuring the stability and effectiveness of Ukraine's defense strategy during this challenging period.
